Revisiting Neenja: An Animated Series Created in 2007

As an animator and creator, I am constantly reviewing my earlier work critically.
I am continuously considering what I could have done differently and how I can do better at what I already do. The animated series Neenja that I made in 2007 is one of my earlier endeavors that I recall with a mixture of pride and nostalgia.

Neenja tells the tale of Harut, a lonely cab driver from Armenia who learns he is the mighty ninja chosen 8,000 years ago. He is trained by his new Master, a video store owner, and must battle a villain known as The Creator who summons monsters through the power of a magical Celtic book.
Harut refers to himself as Neenja since he has trouble pronouncing the term "ninja."

I was still learning the ins and outs of animation and storytelling when I first made Neenja.
In an effort to develop my unique artistic voice, I was experimenting with various methods and aesthetics.
If I were to rewrite the series today, I could see all the areas where I might have done better and the things I would do differently. I am nevertheless very proud of the work I produced at the time, despite its shortcomings.

Neenja was a significant milestone in my development as an animator and storyteller.
It helped me realize the significance of trying new things, the benefit of learning from my failures, and the strength of persistence. Additionally, it taught me how to create an engaging narrative with a distinct and varied character.

By exposing Neenja to a larger audience, I aim to encourage other animators and creators to be bold with their work and try new things. Even if you look back on your previous efforts critically, keep in mind that you should also be proud of what you were able to do and the advancement you made.

I hope you will enjoy the Neenja animation series that I have published on YouTube.
I'd be interested in hearing any feedback or suggestions you may have.

The Liar: An Armenian Folktale - The Story of the Peasant Who outsmarted the King

I am proud to be part of the rich cultural legacy of Armenia, where folktales have been passed down from generation to generation. One such tale that holds a special place in my heart is "The Liar."

This tale tells the story of a bored king who challenges his subjects to a game of wits, promising a golden apple to whoever can tell him the greatest lie they've ever heard. People from all walks of life gather at the king's castle to tell their stories, but the king, who has heard nearly every big lie in his lifetime, remains unimpressed.

That is until a peasant carrying a cauldron enters the throne room, ready to declare the competition over without a winner. The peasant claims that the king owes him a pot of gold, and the king, branding him a liar, refuses to give it to him. But the peasant's cunning reply leaves the king with little choice but to name him the greatest liar in the realm and award him the golden apple.

I was inspired by this folktale and wanted to bring it to life for a new generation. As an Armenian-American cartoonist, I have reworked this tale and produced an animated version that is both entertaining and educational. It imparts a valuable lesson about cunning and wit, and is a great way for both kids and adults to learn about Armenian history and tradition.

In conclusion, "The Liar" is a beloved and timeless Armenian folktale that has stood the test of time. Through my animated retelling, I aim to keep this tale alive and share its valuable lessons with the world.

The Armenian Genocide - April 24 1915

My Youtube channel is a comedy channel, but April 24th is a date both of my grandparents were affected by. So I created this video in remembrance of the 1.5 Million Armenians who lost their lives. We remember. We survive.

“Armenia is dying, but it will survive. The little blood that is left is precious blood that will give birth to a heroic generation. A nation that does not want to die, does not die” - Anatole France
